Rabih Al Asmar Brief History

Rabih Al Asmar was born in a small village called Al Harmel, famous for its river called al Assi.   As a child, Rabih loved sports and painting but he soon understood he was born with an interest and gift for music.  Rabih was given an opportunity to participate in two TV programs called “Studio al fan” and “Layali Lubnan.”  With his hard work and talent, he was recognized and awarded the first place, gold medal in Traditional Arabic singing style.

Having accrued experience in the art of singing, he then traveled to Geneva and in this environment he was exposed to more opportunities.  There, he opened a Lebanese restaurant where he performed. This lasted until 1996. During his years in Geneva, Rabih also took the time to travel to Lebanon where he produced an album every year.  This is where his 15 albums and 12 video clips were born; he produced some of the sound as well as wrote the lyrics.  His best albums include:  Nuss Il Leil (Middle of the night), Awadoni al Sahar (Late nights),Ya Zaman (Time), Al Ghurbah (Nostalgia) , Zikriat (Memories), Ma’lesh (Its OK), Ghalak (Priceless), khutwa Jadeedah( New step), Ajras al Khatar ( Sirens), Akher Damaa’ (Last tear), Isharat Istifham( Question mark). dd

 

After producing his album Ghalak (Priceless), he received an offer from Rotana Studios and as a result he produced Khutwa Jadeedah.  After leaving Rotana, he began participating in a hidden camera show called Camerabih, through Shine Productions; this remains one of his current projects.  In addition to this, Rabih is currently working on a movie role where he plays the lead role.  He is also presently signed up with a top production company "Al Oula Lil Elam", and has two new albums coming out this year.
